The Social Poets: Saturday Special: Comic Seth Meyers Analyzes GOP Convention As Intellectually Obscene Screw-Up?: From Denny:  Have you ever actually Googled the Donald Trump memes?  Unbelievable.  It's like visual diarrhea on steroids.  Same for Hillary Clinton memes.  The mocking community is in full overdrive for the 2016 election cycle on both sides of the political aisle.  As usual, it's more personal than substantive.  Forget about it there is anything useful for a voter to intelligently decide the best reasons of who should lead this country.





Watching some of the GOP convention is a lot like those memes on steroids:  nothing useful for the country, just a bunch of screaming and streaming garbage that has nothing to do with governing a first world country...

A Truth Journal: Why is Trump Catching on Fire? What Would His Cabinet Look Like? The Hilarious Lowdown: From Denny:  My fellow media are flabbergasted that billionaire Donald Trump is rising so fast in the Republican polls.  The media is so entrenched in their collective bias that they refuse to take his candidacy seriously.  Hold on to your hats, folks, because Trump will survive far beyond the summer flavor of the month.  Come on; we all know that former President Bill Clinton secretly got him to run as a way to help clean house on the Republican candidates, paving the way for Hillary to win.  Well, that strategy just might backfire since Trump is catching on with the disgruntled middle class.

Well, Trump may be stupidly wealthy but he still knows how to talk Middle Class in his brash Brooklyn accent.  In fact, Trump reminds me much of the very bold personality of President Teddy Roosevelt. And, he is every bit as passionate about his views, with plenty of real fire in the belly running for President that the American public likes in a presidential candidate.  We certainly are not seeing any of that fire in the belly with any other Republican candidates and only with one Democrat candidate, Bernie Sanders...

A Truth Journal: Did You Enjoy Yesterday's Cyberattack Courtesy of BFFs Russia, China and Iran?: From Denny:  So much for the cyberattack no one is talking about - yet.  Yesterday all communications were down for several hours:  internet, cable, TV, cell and even the old school land line here in Louisiana.  Yeah, those all powerful NSA gremlins are ever so good at handling cyberattacks - not.

The past two NSA Directors wasted years of development focused upon Stupid - mainly watching and annoying other Americans and American journalists, instead of preparing to defend against cyberattacks from America's real enemies:  Russia, China, North Korea and Iran.

Of course, Russia, China, Iran and North Korea are terribly pleased with themselves, believing they accomplished a great feat.  Yet, yesterday's attack that caused parts of the U. S. to just shut down for hours anything not essential (read that as people like me) really didn't do much more than annoy the U. S. like a chomping mosquito on your butt.

The reality is that Russia, China, NK and Iran all taxed their resources to bring about that cyberattack.  And for what?  To register their usual petulance they are not respected and feared as The Great Leaders of the World?  Seriously?  These countries' leaders spend far too much time watching porn and reading fantasy comic books that they don't realize just how ridiculous they are perceived by the rest of the world.

What should be our response?  Counter cyberattacks?  Sure, we can do that too.  But the reckless behavior of Russia, China, NK and Iran all point to something deeper and darker that must be addressed.  If these countries are this annoying while sanctions exist against them, how much worse are they going to become if we are willing to lift any of those sanctions?...

A Truth Journal: Russia to Daddy France: Help! Send Money. I'm Overdrawn at the Bank: From Denny:  The Russians are always as entertaining as they are annoying.  Besides, slamming - and taking to task - a violent global bully is even more entertaining.  One of their latest foibles?  Wrangling with France over a suspended contract on a $1.2 billion euro Mistral helicopter carrier deal not delivered after Russia invaded Ukraine and seized the Crimea region, annexing it to Russian territory.

Of course, to hear the Russians tell it they whine how they are the injured party on this Mistral deal because of those unfair sanctions.  They also use that same line about invading Ukraine, "Oh, how those awful Ukrainians have started a war against Russia!"  Putin should get the Big Fat Ass Trophy for Global BS Artist.

What Russia wants Daddy France to do is cancel the contract because France has no intention of delivering since Russia started military aggression against Ukraine. The last thing France or the EU should be doing is selling military ships to Russia when Russia is in hostile aggression mode, trying to march across Europe in the most naked land grab in centuries...

Dennys World of Quotes: Christmas: Funny and Thoughtful Christmas Quotes and Short Poems: From Denny:  Well, now that we have finished Christmas breakfast at our house it's time to roll out these fun Christmas quotes and Christmas poems for you and yours to enjoy!

Oh, how rude of me not to give you the Christmas breakfast menu:  a Dutch Baby Oven Pancake with spiced cooked apples and a side of Honeysuckle Italian style ground Turkey made into a sausage which I spiced up extra with some seasoned brown rice, smokey paprika, garlic and extra virgin olive oil before shaping into small patties and cooking on the stovetop.  Yeah, it's a tough day at our house all right. :)

And, yes, I made the roast turkey yesterday since we like to celebrate Christmas Eve as well so that pressure is non-existent.  Made a wonderful wet rub for the turkey that sat a day uncovered in the fridge to marinate:  rubbed under the skin and on top with a mixture of red moscato wine, extra virgin oil, and lovely spices and herbs like marjoram, rosemary, sage, ginger, sea salt, black pepper, smokey paprika, garlic powder, a touch of lite soy sauce and more.  Blanched the green beans earlier in the week so all that needs to be done today is to heat them up in clarified butter and some spices as a side dish.  All the cooking left is to bake the Louisiana sweet potatoes which are a divine dish in themselves they are so sweet! .... Political Fails, Missteps, Midterms, ISIS, NFL: Late Nite Jokes: From Denny:  Make sure you VOTE! to get your voice heard above the lying political campaign ads.  If we want to change out our politicians who refuse to attend to the needs of the American people and get this country going again, then VOTE! even if you did not intend to vote until 2016 for the presidential campaign.

Make sure you have a valid I.D. like a driver's license or other state issued I.D.  Republican legal teams will be out in full force nationally to challenge voters at the polls, intent upon throwing out millions of votes or preventing millions of voters from being able to exercise their right to vote at all.

Even here in Louisiana the Republican brand is so disliked by voters that the candidates refuse to acknowledge they are Republicans on all their yard signs and political literature.  The public may be almost as angry with the Democrats but less so than with the Republicans who are too lazy to work but 13 percent of the time in Congress.  Why are we paying these lazy fools $168,000 annually anyway?  Part time work should be rewarded with part time paychecks and no health care plans since they are temporary workers.  Works for me.

Meanwhile, enjoy the political jokes, poking our most greedy and clueless politicians.  Get out and VOTE! and create a tsunami to overwhelm Congress with how the middle class wants real change and real change now...

A Truth Journal: Ukraine: Time To Label Russia A Rogue State and Beef Up NATO?:
From Denny:  While Putin plays Liars Poker with the world, losing miserably, it's time for the world to move past this dead leader walking.  It's only a matter of time before he is assassinated or removed from office.

Meanwhile, the rest of us need to decide how we will handle rogue actions like this seizing of sovereign territory as Putin has done in Crimea.

He has his eye on the rest of the Ukraine, hoping to take it in big chunks: the first easy plucking was Crimea as he knew most Russians back home would not oppose him.  Next he is moving to take Eastern Ukraine where there are ethnic Russians in residence as they are in Crimea.  After that he plans to take back the rest of Ukraine just for general principle and a fun military exercise...

From Denny:  While Al-Qaeda whines about how other terrorist groups [in addition to them] are fighting each other in Syria and behaving badly, the Colbert Bump is in full swing back here in America.

Oh, come on, Sec. of State Kerry and President Obama, just sit back and wait for all those terrorists coalescing in Syria to thrash it out until there are fewer groups.  Then you send in the drones.  Let these guys do your work for you.

Look at it this way:  Stupid is as stupid does.  Terrorist groups continue to mass in Syria.  Well, we sure know where to find them.  It will be like shooting fish in a barrel.  At least the IC should be tagging and identifying these now easy to find terrorists.

Meanwhile, rather than write yet another political post and yell at the TV news tonight, our house switched over to Colbert Report and found this awesome indie music group.  These folks will definitely benefit from the Colbert Bump.  But, you know what, they have game - and lots of it.
